Cobra Demo Team

Cobra Demo Team

Cobra Demo Team will come back to Leszno! The Bell AH-1 Cobra was designed purely for attack missions. It was created in response to the need for heavy fire support in Vietnam, where armed transport helicopters proved too vulnerable. Its slim fuselage reduced drag and improved targeting accuracy at higher speeds.

In Vietnam, the Cobra escorted troop-carrying Hueys and provided covering fire during insertions. Its weapons included a nose-mounted rotary cannon and rocket pods, enabling rapid response to Viet Cong ambushes. The Cobra could reach speeds of over 270 km/h, impressive for a 1960s combat helicopter. Its design became the blueprint for many future attack helicopters worldwide.
