Grumman F8F-2 Bearcat
Grumman F8F-2 Bearcat was designed late in World War II as a lightweight, high-performance carrier-based fighter. Although it saw limited combat, it quickly gained recognition for its excellent power-to-weight ratio and outstanding climb rate.
After the war, the Bearcat became a favorite in air racing, where its speed and agility gave it a significant advantage. Its top speed is over 780 km/h. To this day, Bearcat continues to impress, demonstrating just how advanced its design was for its time. Bearcats were forming the U.S. Navy Blue Angels Demonstration Team from 1946 to 1949 and that particular airplane is in the Blue Angels scheme. It will fly to Leszno from Austria and is part of The Flying Bulls’ fleet.
