Lim-5
Lim-5 is a Polish license-built version of the MiG-17 fighter. The Lim-5 with side number 1211 took to the skies after 36 years and is currently the only flying MiG-17F in Europe. The aircraft played a significant role in Polish military aviation during the Cold War, serving as one of the primary fighters of the Air Force. The aircraft you will see, number 1211, was produced in Mielec in 1958. It is a development of the Lim-2, featuring something that has never before been in private hands in Poland – an afterburner.
FUBAR Aviation carried out the first flight of the Lim-5 aircraft in April 2026. Restoring it to airworthy condition required an enormous amount of work from the entire team – huge respect to FUBAR Aviation for their effort and passion. This is the only civilian jet with an afterburner in Poland.
