North American P-51D Mustang
P-51D Mustang is an American single-seat fighter of the Second World War period designed for the RAF and produced in the USA and Australia. Used in both World War II and the Korean War (as an attack aircraft), the airplane proved so successful that the last P-51-based fighter project was not cancelled until 1986! In total, more than 16,000 Mustangs were produced, making it one of the most recognisable warbirds.
This particular airplane, named ‘Nooky Booky IV’, was produced in 1944 and was part of the United States Air Force. After the war, it was transferred to the Royal Canadian Air Force, while one of the most famous pilots in aviation history, Bob Hoover, owned it after its military retirement. The plane joined the fantastic fleet of the Flying Bulls in 2021. The P-51 Mustang boasts an engine with more than 1,400 horsepower and a top speed of up to 700 km/h. Its display will be a celebration for any aviation enthusiast!
