Spitfire
Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IXb MH415 is a British single-seat fighter aircraft produced in Great Britain. It is an absolute icon of the World War II. Spitfire made its first flight in 1936, and of course, it gained fame for its fantastic capabilities during World War II. It was successful in many fields, but it is definitely most associated with the Battle of Britain, where it made an incredible difference in the air.
The one you will see was built in 1943 and joined the RAF 129 Squadron. After the war, it flew in the Royal Netherlands Air Force, among others. It has been restored in recent years and joined the Flying Legends. The Spitfire was distinguished by its excellent maneuverability, high speed, and potential for continuous development – during the war, more than 20 versions were made with increasingly powerful Merlin and Griffon engines. It was also loved by pilots because it combined performance with excellent aerodynamics and precise control. Polish pilots flew Spitfires in RAF Squadrons 302 and 303, among others, achieving numerous victories and making their mark on the history of Allied aviation during World War II.
